The province has committed to developing a BC Coastal Marine Strategy but it will need to secure funding in the 2022 BC budget to make it happen.
This funding will be crucial to ensure we’re on the path to develop and implement a coastal marine strategy that protects the livelihood of your community, prepares coastal communities for climate change impacts, and ensures marine ecosystems are resilient and healthy.
We have until Thursday, September 30, 2021 to tell the Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services why coastal communities and marine ecosystems should be a priority in the 2022 budget.
