Celebrating a new home for coastal management

The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia

The BC government just created a new ministry: the Ministry of Land, Water and Resource Stewardship.

This is good news! Why? Because the new ministry is shaping up to be a single home in the provincial government to address the vital issues that impact the coast of British Columbia.

Finding a home in the government for coastal issues is an important step toward creating a coastal marine strategy that ensures coastal communities and ecosystems can thrive. A coastal marine strategy is a united plan and law that covers everything from tourism to aquaculture to conservation and scientific research.

Write an email to the new Minister Josie Osborne and her Parliamentary Secretary, Fin Donnelly. Congratulate them on their new appointments and emphasize the importance of developing a strong coastal marine strategy.
